How to Get Rid of Ants Naturally

ants

The ants come marching one by one, and you need to be ready for if that happens. Although at Insight we recommend our eco-friendly products to get rid of ants, there are some natural home remedies that prevent some of the ants. Here are tips on how to get rid of ants naturally.
*Most of these are not scientifically proven. They are just suggestions from people who it worked for.*

1. Hot water

If you boil water to 212 degrees Fahrenheit, that hot water can get rid of an ant mound or ant colony that is giving you problems. You simply pour that hot water directly on the mound, and it supposedly supposed to rid that area of ants.

2. Baking soda

Another way to get rid of ant colony is to take some baking soda and dust the infected area with it. Afterwards, grab some white vinegar and spray the area that was dusted with it.

3. Cornmeal

Cornmeal can be used to treat minor infestations but not major. It has been said that when ants consume cornmeal, they suffer from digestion issues and eventually die from starvation. You simply sprinkle some cornmeal around the infested area and wait for it to do it’s job.

4. Clean up

This one is the easiest tip, however, might not work the best. It depends on why the ants are in your home. However, a way to prevent more ants from coming in and to get more ants to leave would be to clean up any crumbs or food that is laying out on the ground, counters, etc. This will get rid of the main reason why ants are probably in your home: your food.

These tips will help you temporarily get rid of ants, however, if you would like to permanently get rid of them with our eco-friendly products, then give us a call.
