LeMay – America’s Car Museum is believed to be one of oldest and best car museums in the USA today. It is located in Tacoma, Washington. The bulk of the museums’ collections were donated from the largest private automotive collections in the world. Collection
The museum is very large and contains around 350 cars on display. Of the 350 cars on display, 250 are a part of the permanent collection and 100 are on rotating loan from private collectors. The cars are arranged and displayed according to their year and type of production. Some collections and exhibits that have been on display include Classics and Custom Coachworks, Route 66: Sixties on 66, Heroes of Bavaria, and British Invasion. There is a permanent exhibit dedicated to the largest contributor to the museum’s collection: Harold LeMay.

The time recommended seeing all the museum has to offer depends on what you’ve come to see. The museum also hosts restoration shops, lecture halls, and galleries in addition to its exhibits. For those who only plan to look at the different types of cars, about two to three hours should be enough to see the collection. Be sure to wear very comfortable shoes when visiting! If you finish your visit to the museum but want to see some more attractions close by, you can stop by the University of Pungent Sound. This university is located nearby the Seattle Needle as well, so you can visit that attraction as well.
