How to Get Rid of Ants Before Our Techs Get There

Ants in Kitchen

Seeing ants in your kitchen but don’t know what to do until our technicians can get there? Here are some tips on how to get rid of ants temporarily in the meantime.

1. Do NOT leave freestanding water in your kitchen.

If you have an ant problem or have had one in the past, do not let freestanding water remain in your kitchen. Wet dish towels can also attract ants into your kitchen. Soaking pots and pans is okay, but remember not to let them soak for more than three hours if possible. If you can, keep the soaking pots and pans covered.

2. Check seals in your kitchen.

When trying to prevent more ants, it is important to check the seals of windows and doors in order to see if ants are able to get in through them. If you can find where they are entering, you can prevent them before they get into the house.

3. Replace window screens often.

If your window screens are in bad shape, then that could be a reason why ants are getting into your home. Make sure you are checking your screens often to see if they are the reason and replace them when suspect they could be.

4. Use vinegar in areas where ants could be getting in.

A natural and easy way to prevent the rats from getting inside before our technicians can come over and help is to spray vinegar on the points of entry that the ants are using. This will help keep them out of eye sight before we can get you taken care of.

5. Use peanut butter to get ants in one spot.

The peanut butter will bring the ants to one spot, so when our technician gets there, it is easier for him to treat for them. I know it seems weird to gather them into one spot, but it helps our workers.
