Kelsey Creek Farm and Park

Bellevue Wa

Kelsey Creek Farm and Park provide a very unique and fun ‘farm’ experience for visitors. Featuring farm animals, barns, walking trails, a children’s play area, and a picnic area, this park covers the functions of a normal park with the added bonus of educating children about farm animals and farm life. With free admission and so much to offer, it is an obvious choice for a family outing in Bellevue.

About Kelsey Creek Farm and Park

Kelsey Creek Farm Park is owned and maintained by the City of Bellevue within the Bellevue Parks & Community Services Department. The Park and barnyard are open 365 days a year, from dawn to dusk. The only exclusion is that farm animals are only available for viewing from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily.

The farm and park span over 150 acres of forest, meadows, farmland, and open park space. View a historic cabin, three different barns, and the many trails. One fun way to support the farm and keep it going is the Adopt a Kelsey Creek Critter program. You can adopt one of the farm animals by sponsoring the park, anywhere from $25 to $200 will get you different levels of adoption.

The Farm

The Barnyard at Kelsey Creek Farm provides the Bellevue community with a piece of country living just 2 miles from Downtown Bellevue. The farm serves as a means to educate the community about farm animals, and even provide experiences with them. One event held every year is a sheep shearing day, where

Kelsey’s Farm Animals

One fun feature of Kelsey Creek Farm in Bellevue is the farm animals that visitors can see. All of the animals at Kelsey Creek Farm have names. There are 2 cows (Bella and Franny), 3 goats (Ernie, Farah, and Kona), 4 ducks (Ellie, Abby, Dolley, and Deena), 4 ponies (Gus, Winchester, Benny, and Rascal), 4 sheep (Twinkles, Star, Bobcat, and Shaun), 2 rabbits (Basil and Spaulding), pigs, and 2 coops full of chickens.

The Park

Kelsey Creek Park has a little bit of everything, it is a place for family, young and old. If you’re looking for a fresh, nature experience, take a walk, jog, or hike on one of Kelsey Creek’s many trails through the forest. While hiking, you will see creeks, critters, and greenery.

Have small children with energy? Kelsey Creek has a fun children’s playground to keep the little ones entertained and busy. If you are a dog mom, bring your dogs to the park. It is an on leash park, but it provides a lovely open space that is both kid and dog friendly. Just don’t bring your pets into the barnyard area as they are not allowed there.

Kelsey Creek Programs

Kelsey Creek Farm and Park offers a large variety of events and programs for the Bellevue Community. Here are a few programs that bring life and learning to Bellevue:

Summer Camps

Looking for a day or week-long summer camp for your kids? Kelsey Creek Farm offers a variety of different camps with different focuses. From art camp to science on the farm to a nature based camp (just to name a few), there is something for everyone. There are camps offered for 6-8 year olds, 9-14 year olds, or 11-13 year olds.

Farm Animal Pen-Pal’s

If your kid really bonded with one specific animal at the farm, you can participate in the Farm Animal Pen-Pal system. Whether you kid wants to write letters to Winchester the Pony, Basil the Bunny, Jackson the Cat, or a number of other animals, there is a program available for you! Check out the Bellevue Parks website to register for this activity.

Family Tours

Going to the park is fun, but if you are looking for a more educational experience, you can set up a family tour for $25. The tour will allow you to meet all of the resident farm animals, talk about what it takes to be a farmer, and learn interesting facts about animals and farm life.
