The Evergreen Arboretum and Gardens located in Everett, Washington is the perfect way to spend an afternoon. This garden is maintained by volunteers with help from Everett Parks and Community Services. There are eleven themed gardens placed in the three-and-a-half-acre arboretum. These eleven gardens include the Sculpture Collection, Small Urban Tree Walk, Master Gardener Demonstration Garden, Conifer Garden, Viewing Mound, Rock Garden, Woodland Garden & Fernery, Japanese Maple Grove, Backyard Garden, Northwest Native Plant Trail, Nativar Garden, and the Horizontal Rock Garden.
The Arboretum also includes free creative ways to enjoy the beauty of the gardens. Some of these free events include docent-led tours, educational classes, and events such as the Garden’s two-day Sculpture Walk in August, and the Wintertide Lights featured in December. The Arboretum ensures that the gardens stay beautiful and manicured year-round.
People can access the garden every day from dawn to dusk with the mission to create an inspirational arboretum and garden accessible to everyone. The Evergreen Arboretum and Gardens is an all-volunteer non-profit organization. Because of this, anyone is welcome to take part in the board meetings held on the second Tuesday of each month. The Evergreen Arboretum and Gardens value their community’s perspective and participation and welcome all to attend their discussions.
In the Sculpture Garden, some of the Northwest’s most noted artists are featured for viewers to enjoy the artwork in the garden’s natural surroundings. The artwork style featured around the garden varies between traditional, modern, abstract, and whimsical. In the Northwest Native Plant Trail, people will find plants and animal paw prints that are found in the Cascade mountains and coastal regions from Northern Oregon to Vancouver, BC. In this garden, you will learn about the benefits of using plants that grow naturally and learn about the habitat and wildlife that takes place in the beautiful northwest region.
Each garden features a walking path for viewers to roam about the arboretum and take in the beautiful nature surrounding them. Enjoy your next free moment at this beautiful arboretum and garden.
